I’m searching for truth and glamor. My work is a reflection of the things I would like to see personally.

Miriam Dehne is a German author and director. She studied design at the Berlin University of the Arts before turning her attention to a career in film, TV and theater. Her films have been screened at international festivals, in movie theaters, on television and digital platforms, and have received numerous awards. She wrote screenplays for and directed the feature films STADT ALS BEUTE and LITTLE PARIS, both shortlisted for the Deutscher Filmpreis, also for Best Soundtrack and other categories. Miriam has directed reenactments for the musical B-MOVIE LUST & SOUND IN WEST BERLIN, awarded the Heiner Carow Preis from the DEFA Foundation. Her works have a special affinity for music, an example of which can been seen in the musical IRGENDWO IN BERLIN, created for German pop duo Rosenstolz and their collaboration with Berlin-based musicians 2Raumwohnung. For the web, Miriam has developed the first German fictional web series THEY CALL US CANDYGIRLS. Her theatrical play MOM’S ROOM premiered in Los Angeles in 2014. In 2021 she directed the successful TV movie DIE STERNTALER DES GLÜCKS (ZDF). In addition to working as a director and author, she has directed documentaries for TV stations and worked as producer and showrunner for various TV formats.


Miriam Dehne is a member of the German Film Academy and board member of the Federal Film Promotion Agency (BKM), both since 2008. She served as jury member for the Preis für junge Filmkunst of the Neue Nationalgalerie and the German Film Academy until 2015, and has guest lectured at the Film University Babelsberg Konrad Wolf.
